Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information the Fynix website collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It covers this website, usefynix.com, and the emails you send us, including early access and investor enquiries. The Fynix app will have its own privacy policy before it opens to users.
1. Who we are and who is responsible
Fynix is accounting software in development, based in Canada. In this policy, "Fynix", "we" and "us" mean the business that runs this website.
Our Privacy Officer is the person in charge of protecting personal information at Fynix and is responsible for our compliance with this policy and with Canadian privacy law. You can reach the Privacy Officer at [email protected] with the subject "Privacy request".
2. What we collect
- When you ask about early access: your email address, your name if you include it, and anything you choose to tell us, such as what describes you best or the bookkeeping job you hate most.
- When you send an investor enquiry: your name, email address, firm or organization if you give one, and your message.
- When you email us: your email address, your name if you include it, and what you write.
- When you visit the site: the company that hosts this website keeps standard server logs, such as your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and the time of the request.
We do not ask for payment details, banking details or financial records on this website.
3. What we do not do
- We do not use cookies, browser storage, tracking pixels, analytics tools or advertising tools on this website. See Cookies and storage.
- We do not use any technology that identifies, locates or profiles you. If we ever add one, it will be off until you choose to turn it on.
- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
- We do not make decisions about you based only on automated processing, and we do not use your information to train AI models.
- Fonts and scripts on this website are served from our own domain, so loading a page does not send your information to a font or script service.
4. How we use it
- To reply to your early access request.
- To reply to messages and investor enquiries you send us.
- If you agree to receive news from us, to keep a record of that agreement, as Canada's anti-spam law requires.
- To keep the website secure and working.
We use your information only for these purposes. If we want to use it for anything else, we will ask for your consent first.
5. Your consent
When you email us, we reply to you about what you asked. We will not add you to a mailing list or send you news unless you agree to it first. If you agree, every email we send will say who it is from and how to reach us, and will have an unsubscribe link. You can withdraw your consent at any time by using that link or by emailing us, and we will stop within 10 business days.
7. Information stored outside Canada
Some of our providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States. While your information is outside Canada, it is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessed by its courts and authorities. Before we send personal information outside Quebec, we assess the privacy risks as Quebec law requires.
8. How long we keep it
- Early access requests: until you ask us to delete them, and no longer than 12 months after Fynix launches unless you have agreed to receive news from us. If you unsubscribe from news, we keep only your email address, the date you unsubscribed and the record of your earlier consent, so we do not contact you by mistake.
- Messages and investor enquiries: for as long as we need them to answer you and keep a record of the conversation.
- Server logs: for the period our website host keeps them.
When we no longer need personal information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
9. How we protect it
Only the people who need it to answer your messages can see it, and the website is served only over HTTPS. No method of storing or sending information is completely secure, so we cannot promise that it will never be lost or accessed without permission.
If a breach of your personal information creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will tell you and report it to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, and, where Quebec law applies, to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec. We keep a record of every breach.
10. Your rights
- Ask to see the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct it, or to delete it.
- Ask for a copy of it in a structured, commonly used format, or for it to be sent to another organization.
- Withdraw your consent to email at any time.
Email the Privacy Officer and we will reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm who you are before we act on a request.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, the privacy commissioner for your province, or, if you live in Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
11. People under 18
This website is meant for businesses. If you are under 18, please do not send us an early access request or an enquiry.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If a change affects how we use information you have already given us, we will ask for your consent again.
